The business

Bigrise is based in London and works across the UK. Where possible, we prefer to work in person, as it can be more effective, although we do offer online services as well.

About me

I graduated from Newcastle University over a year ago. At university I discovered how good AI was starting to get, and I became very interested in learning more. After graduating I decided I wanted to go full time into AI, so I did a Python coding course and started learning everything I could. I have been constantly developing my skills since.

I am enrolled in the Anthropic Academy, working towards my Claude Certified Architect exam, while also studying for the NVIDIA Certified Associate in Generative AI and LLMs certification. Most of my learning and development, though, happens on projects, both client and personal.

I have built a wide range of them: Chrome extensions, machine learning models using XGBoost and decision trees, websites and web systems, custom software built and deployed, Google Apps Script and Gemini automations that used to run behind this website, and agents made in different ways, from low-code tools like n8n through to the software development kits (SDKs) that Anthropic and OpenAI offer. I also enjoy competing in hackathons, which push me into a wider range of builds.

I'm lucky to have an experienced business advisor with 30 years of experience across a variety of industries, as well as having built, scaled and sold a business. I am also growing a network of industry contacts, and depending on what a project requires, specialist developers can be brought in to assist.

My setup

You rarely hear on consulting websites how they actually use AI in their own day to day work. I practise what I preach: a large amount of Bigrise is run with AI.

I work in the terminal and in VS Code. Claude Code is my primary AI tool, and I also use Codex, Gemini and Wispr Flow. GitHub is a big part of how I work and where many of my projects live, version controlled and deployed. I also connect my AI tools to services like Apify, Firecrawl and GitHub repos, extending what they are able to do. I am always experimenting with new products, and trying new AI tools and versions as they are released.

Claude is deeply connected to all areas of the business, such as marketing and accounting. Behind everything sits a knowledge map of the business: organised documents and a custom collection of MCP connections into every area of Bigrise, so the AI I use understands the business well. A lot of my work happens in the terminal, where Claude has access to the right tools and information, so a large amount of the business can be run from Claude Code.
